First Friday: April

The return of the Fisher Friday Lecture Series. Experience a deep dive of topics through this monthly series.

Begin your morning with a light coffee reception followed by a one-hour topical presentation by a member of the Fisher community, then Catholic Mass in the Hermance Family Chapel of St. Basil the Great.

Who was St. John Fisher?

Rev. William Graf

Fr. Graf will discuss the extraordinary life and death of Cardinal John Fisher, the role he played in a tumultuous time in England’s history, and how he came to have a university named in his honor in Rochester, New York.

Fr. William Graf served as a member of the Fisher faculty for 37 years including as chair of the Religious Studies Department, and was the first to be named the William and Helen Cavanaugh Chair of Catholic Studies in the School of Arts and Sciences. He retired from teaching in 2020.

The April First Friday will be held on Friday, April 14 as Friday, April 7 is Good Friday.
