Fund Your Dream Project through Crowdfunding@Fisher

September 13, 2018

Let your passions soar with the help of Crowdfunding@Fisher, an initiative of St. John Fisher College’s Office of Institutional Advancement.

Crowdfunding@Fisher is all about helping the Fisher community by crowdsourcing gifts to fund innovative, creative projects. Crowdfunding@Fisher is now taking applications for fall 2018 projects and the deadline for application submission is Friday, Sept 28.

In its inaugural semester, three groups successfully met their fundraising goals, while funds were also raised for four additional initiatives.

Fisher Serves Those Who Serve was launched to create a stronger support system for veterans who juggle their Fisher courses, work obligations, and family responsibilities. The goal was to give veteran families time to connect and focus on each other by providing family dinners. With the overwhelming support of the campus community, Fisher Serves Those Who Serve raised 112 percent of their goal and can now serve the veteran families that have worked hard to serve us.

The goal of FisherTank was to host a business plan competition to help students who are pursuing startups. The group funded 100 percent of its goal to help Fisher students turn their dreams into a reality.

Raising $5,263, students and faculty with #SJFC2STJ were able to travel to St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands to offer aid and recovery to the island, which was devastated by the impact of Hurricanes Irma and Maria.
