Six Reasons to Love Homecoming 2018

September 17, 2018

Fisher alumni are set to return to campus for Homecoming Weekend this Friday, Sept. 21 through Sunday, Sept. 23. Among the dozens of events happening over the course of the three days, here’s six reasons to love (and attend) Homecoming Weekend.

1. Appetites for Success
Friday, Sept. 21, Noon, Cleary Auditorium
Women graduates of the College gather to discuss how mentors have helped them find success, both personally and professionally. This year’s panel is hosted by Dr. Dianne Cooney Miner, dean of the Wegmans School of Nursing, who has mentored hundreds of nursing faculty and students during her tenure at the College.

2. Best of the Best with Ten Under 10
Friday, Sept. 21, 5:30 p.m., Genesee Valley Club
Fisher tips its hat to 10 of the most outstanding graduates of the last decade. See the full list of nominees and a link to register for the reception online.

3. Tailgating & Cardinal Football
Saturday, Sept. 22, 1 p.m., Growney Stadium
Food, drink, and a great view of the 2 p.m. game against Ithaca College. Tailgating tickets are $30 ($20 for Classes 2008-2018, $10 for children 5-12); tickets to the game are $5 and can be purchased at the gate.

4. Campus Tours
Friday, Sept. 21, 11 a.m., Noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m., Skalny Welcome Center
Saturday, Sept. 22, Noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m., Skalny Welcome Center
Renovated science labs, a new academic and advising center, revamped study spaces in the Lavery (we’ve still got that orange carpet, though), a fresh space for the Office of Campus Ministry, come experience all of the changes that have taken place at the College through a student-led campus tour.

5. Brunch
Sunday, Sept. 23, 11 a.m., Cleary Auditorium
Find out why Fisher Dining Services is ranked No. 1 in New York State and No. 10 in the country for college food. Bacon, eggs, home fries. We’ve got you covered at the annual all-you-care-to-eat Alumni Brunch. And, trust us, you’ll care to eat a lot.

6. Homecoming Hits.
Get excited for the big weekend with Fisher's Homecoming Hits Spotify playlist, our musical shout-out to the classes of 1958, 1968, 1988, and 1998, who celebrate milestone reunions. We threw in a few gems for our newest alumni, too.
