Survey Responses Drive Campus Ministry Efforts
A recent survey conducted by the Office of Campus Ministry has encouraged a number of updates and efforts to better serve the campus community.
Fr. Kevin Mannara, director of Campus Ministry, noted that feedback from the survey will inform programming for the year, as well as areas of focus for the team.
Among those efforts and changes include a new Daily Mass schedule. Mass will be offered in the Hermance Family Chapel of St. Basil the Great at 12:30 p.m. instead of 4:30 p.m. In addition to regular 10 a.m. Mass on Sundays. Throughout the academic year the campus community is invited to Chapel Nights, which begin at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday evenings. The events include Mass, with students serving in various ministries, and will be followed by food, fellowship, and a small service opportunity.
The Chapel will remain open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and is available via swipe access with a Fisher ID after hours.
Interfaith programming is open to students of any faith traditions, and the new Campus Ministry Center (located on the main floor of the Donald E. Bain Campus Center) includes an Interfaith Prayer Room.
Mannara also noted that Campus Ministry staff are also working with alumni and faculty members to explore the establishment of Hillel on campus and to reestablish an active Muslim Student Alliance organization on campus.
