Senior marketing students Rebecca Brant and Nicolette Pecor attended the International Collegiate Sales Competition (ICSC) in Orlando, Florida, hosted by Florida State University. Ron Sicker, visiting assistant professor of practice, accompanied the students as he has done for the last three years.

Brant and Pecor, who is also a member of the Honors Program, competed in the Sales Roleplay Competition, sponsored by ReliaQuest. Students had 15 minutes to convince a fictitious representative from Paycom to continue the buying process for Greymatter, a ReliaQuest product that improves visibility across cybersecurity technologies. Both students advanced to the Wild Card round of the competition. Fisher competed among schools from all over the country.

Along with sales competitions, the conference provided extensive networking opportunities with companies during a career fair. Brant and Pecor both were asked to interview with several company representatives, providing a great opportunity to enhance their professional development skills along with their selling skills.

“Being able to travel to the ICSC opened my eyes to the endless opportunities there are in marketing and sales,” said Brant. “Being surrounded by talented students from around the world made me proud to represent St. John Fisher College. Opportunities like these are what add such value to the college experience.”
