This Weekend, It’s All in the Family

St. John Fisher College will roll out the Cardinal red carpet for more than 1,000 alumni and Fisher families during Alumni and Family Weekend 2019. Scheduled for Friday, Sept. 20 through Sunday, Sept. 22, the weekend includes events and activities for the entire campus community.

Among the dozens of events happening over the course of the three days, here are eight reasons to love (and attend) Alumni and Family Weekend.

1. Upper Quad Residence Hall Celebration
2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 20, Upper Campus Quad
Celebrate the opening of Fisher’s newest residence hall!

2. Family Food Truck Rodeo
5 p.m., Friday, Sept. 20
Experience several of Rochester’s favorite food trucks. Cost includes an entrée, beverage, and dessert.

3. Casino Night
6 to 9 p.m., Friday, Sept. 20, Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Athletic Center
A bit of Vegas comes to Fisher! Try your luck on games of chance with members of the extended Fisher family. No cost but registration is required.

4. Trot, Stretch, Relax, and Laugh
7:45 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 21, Various Locations
Saturday is full of activities for the mind, body, and soul. The day begins with the Teddi Trot and Kids Fun Run, and includes Breakfast with the Cardinal, Yoga on the Lawn, Campus Art Walking Tour, History of Fisher talk, and Mindfulness with Dr. Melissa Goodwin. In the afternoon, head to Comedy@The Carlson for family-friendly laughs.

5. Football at the Fisher Family Village
11:30 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 21, Growney Stadium (Noon Kick-off)
An afternoon of fun, food, and football at the Fisher Family Village, surrounding Growney Stadium. $15 includes admission to the game, activities and games, food buffet, and a halftime show by DownBeat Percussion.

6. Alumni Reunions and Celebrations
Various times/dates/locations
The Classes of 1959, 1964, 1969, 1974, 1979, 1984, 1994, and 2009 all celebrate reunion years during Alumni and Family Weekend 2019. And, during a Saturday evening dinner in Cleary Family Auditorium, Fisher will celebrate the Higher Education Opportunity Program’s 50th Anniversary.

7. Reunion Mass and Dedication of the Fr. Joseph A. Trovato, CSB Campus Ministry Center
10 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 22, Hermance Family Chapel of St. Basil the Great
Fisher alumni, students, family, and friends come together for Mass. During Mass, hear alumni from the Glee Club, Gospel Choir, Drastic Measures, and Measure 13 reunite and celebrate in song. Immediately following Mass, join us for the dedication of the Fr. Joseph A. Trovato, CSB Campus Ministry Center in the Donald E. Bain Campus Center.

8. Fisher Family Brunch
11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 22, Cleary Family Auditorium
What’s Sunday without a great brunch? Join fellow alumni and current Fisher families for food and specialty brunch drinks.
