Countdown to Commencement: Anna Marcy
The next featured senior in our Countdown to Commencement video series is nursing major Anna Marcy, who was nominated by Kelly Greapentrog, women’s volleyball coach.
Fisher was a great fit for Marcy, thanks to strong academics, strong athletics, and ways to continue her community service. Marcy chose nursing due to her interest in the evolving sciences and what she calls the “art behind caring for another person.”
Marcy is also a member of the women’s volleyball team and is a Service Scholar. As a Service Scholar, she has dedicated more than 800 volunteer hours throughout her time at Fisher, with two of her favorite volunteer sites being the pediatric unit at Strong Memorial Hospital and in the Rochester City School District.
Marcy said her best memories are with her teammates and all of the support she has received from them.
“There are always people willing to support you in any dream that you want to achieve,” she said about her teammates, professors, and coaches here at Fisher.
Greapentrog said that Marcy is always a role model in whatever she does.
“One thing I will remember most about Anna is her excellent example at all times in athletics, academics, and community involvement,” Greapentrog said.
