Countdown to Commencement: Chelsea Stahl
The next featured senior in our Countdown to Commencement video series is Chelsea Stahl. She was nominated by Dr. Nancy Wilk, associate professor in the Wegmans School of Nursing, and Dr. Linda Schlosser, associate professor in the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. School of Education.
Stahl first graduated from Fisher with her nursing degree in 2014. She went on to earn her master’s degree from Fisher and became a certified Nurse Practitioner in 2017. In May, she will be graduating as a triple Cardinal with her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree.
As an undergraduate, Stahl was an involved student. She was a Service Scholar, an inductee into Delta Sigma STTI, a member of the Teddi Dance for Love, and much more. Her time in the doctoral program has been spent towards completing her doctoral research project.
Stahl’s research is focused on the infamous freshman 15 and ways in which students can defeat that phenomena. She conducted extensive research through the help of grants from Wegmans, the College Bookstore, and from the Student Nurses Association. One result of her research is that the dining hall worked to implement nutrition labels on all of their food offerings.
Wilk predicts that Stahl will go on to do great things in her career.
“Chelsea will make very impactful changes in whatever she does. She will be a leader in the nursing field which she is well educated to do at a very young age,” she said.
