Dr. Jack Brown Receives Posthumous Promotion
St. John Fisher College will posthumously award the rank of full professor to the late Dr. Jack Brown, who served as associate professor and chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administration in the Wegmans School of Pharmacy.
Brown, who joined the School in 2013, spent several months compiling his dossier for promotion to full professor, submitting it just weeks before his passing in November 2017.
“Awarding the rank of full professor, posthumously, is a well-deserved accomplishment for Jack and a wonderful way to acknowledge his many contributions to both the College and the profession,” said Dr. Christine Birnie, dean of the School.
The College also established the Dr. Jack E. Brown, Jr. Memorial Student Research Endowment to honor the life and work of Brown, who was an accomplished clinical pharmacist, researcher and educator.
Gifts in support of the fund can be made online or by check (payable to St. John Fisher College with “Dr. Jack E. Brown Jr. Memorial Endowment” in the memo line and mailed to St. John Fisher College Office of Institutional Advancement, 3690 East Avenue, Rochester, NY 14618).
