St. John Fisher College, University at Buffalo School of Law Announce 3+3 Program

St. John Fisher College and the University at Buffalo School of Law have announced a 3+3 Legal Education Accelerated Program (LEAP) which will allow any interested undergraduate student at Fisher an opportunity to earn both their undergraduate and law degrees in six years, while minimizing the cost of their education.

“This program is very compelling since it creates a direct path from an undergraduate career at Fisher to one of the most attractive law schools in the state,” said Dr. Wesley Renfro, chair of the legal studies and political science programs at Fisher.  “This partnership gives our students access to a rigorous and widely known law school with broad and deep connections in Western New York and beyond. Our students will benefit greatly from the legal education they receive at the University at Buffalo as well as opportunities for professional growth and networking.”

To be considered for the program, students must: matriculate at Fisher as first-year students, complete the College’s First Year Program, Core Curriculum, major, and minor requirements; consult with a LEAP advisor during their undergraduate years at Fisher to discuss educational and career goals; earn a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.5 or higher; and successfully complete the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) with an LSAT score at or above the median LSAT score for the School of Law’s previous year’s enrolled class.  An application to the School of Law must be submitted through LSAC (the Law School Admission Council) during their third and final year at Fisher.
