January 26, 2018

Jeremy Sarachan, associate professor and chair of the Department of Media and Communication, had his short play, “Still Cheese Runs Deep,” performed at the 2 Pages/2 Voices 2018 playwriting competition sponsored by Geva Theatre Center and Writers and Books.

On Tuesday, Jan. 23, the 10 selected plays (from a pool of 60) were performed in the theater at Writers and Books. All the plays were written by Rochester area writers and were read by area actors. The plays chosen this year all include the word “cross” (in reference to this year’s Rochester Reads choice, “The Distance Between Us” by Reyna Grande).

Sarachan’s play catches a glimpse of two contestants about to present their newly developed product on a “Shark Tank” style TV show. Cheese is involved.

“It’s an honor to have been chosen as part of this annual competition,” said Sarachan. “I hope attendees enjoyed my play and the entire evening.”
