A Message from President Gerard J. Rooney
Congratulations once again on your acceptance to St. John Fisher College.
Your acceptance to the College is an indication of our belief in your ability to be successful at Fisher. I hope you have taken the time to visit campus over the last few weeks to experience the Fisher family and to interact with our faculty, experience our educational learning facilities, and feel the sense of community that we enjoy.
Our entire campus community is committed to your success. That begins with understanding your educational goals and career aspirations. We have exceptional people and an outstanding first-year program, designed not only to assist you in your transition to college, but also to help you adjust to the demands of college level study, negotiate the adjustment to life away from home, and to acclimate you into the Fisher community.
By now, you have heard about The Fisher Edge, our new student success initiative, which was designed with you in mind. The edge that Fisher provides includes team-based advising, degree pathways, and in-depth internship and career exploration. You can learn more on our website and in this issue.
In June, we will welcome you to Great Beginnings, the first phase of your Orientation to Fisher. It will be a good time to meet your classmates and peers as well as members of our faculty and staff, and start your acclimation to our campus.
In closing, thank you for your interest in Fisher. I am always available to you – as you decide where to attend college or once you’ve made the decision to join the Fisher Family.
My best wishes as you complete your high school studies and begin your collegiate career.
Kind regards,
Gerard J. Rooney, Ph.D.
President
