Women’s Basketball to Host Empire 8 Tournament

Cheer on the St. John Fisher College women’s basketball team as they host the Empire 8 Championship tournament, beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 23, at Manning and Napier Varsity Gymnasium.

The Cardinals, who reached 20 wins after defeating The Sage Colleges, 66-47 on Saturday, Feb. 17, are riding a 13-game winning streak. With a 15-1 conference record (20-5 overall), Fisher will play as the tournament’s top overall seed, and will face fourth-seed Houghton College. No. 2 Sage will play No. 3 Stevens Institute of Technology.

The winner of each semifinal will play at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, for the E8 Championship title and a spot in the NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Championship.

Tickets to the game are $3 for students with IDs and seniors, and $5 for the general public.
