Fisher Honored as a “College of Distinction”

St. John Fisher College has been recognized for its committed implementation of high-impact educational practices, earning its title as one of the nation’s 2018-2019 Colleges of Distinction.

The College will be featured in the Colleges of Distinction guidebook, a college search resource for prospective students.

Since 2000, the Colleges of Distinction website and guidebook have honored schools throughout the U.S. for their excellence in undergraduate-focused higher education. According to a press release issued by Colleges of Distinction, Fisher was selected because of its modern, student-centered approach to teaching, unique learning environment, and engaging academic programming. Colleges of Distinction’s selection process reviews each institution’s freshman experience and retention efforts alongside its general education programs, alumni success, strategic plan, and student satisfaction, among other factors. Schools are accepted on the basis that they adhere to four distinctions: engaged students, great teaching, vibrant community, and successful outcomes.
