Madigan Published in New York Sociologist

Dr. Tim Madigan, professor and chair of the Department of Philosophy and Classical Studies, was published in the 2018 issue of The New York Sociologist, the online, peer-reviewed journal of the New York State Sociological Association.

Madigan’s essay, “Friendship Then and Now,” examines Aristotle’s concept of friendship as found in The  Nichomachean Ethics, comparing it to the work done by social psychologist Stanley Milgram, as well as two pop culture works, the novel, The Little Prince, and the television show, “Seinfield.”
