August 15, 2018

St. John Fisher College Associate Director of Athletics Jill McCabe was inducted into the Frontier Field Walk of Fame on Sunday, Aug. 12.

Naomi Silver, president, CEO, COO, Rochester Community Baseball, Inc. and Jill McCabe at the Wall of Fame Induction.

McCabe was inducted as a contributor/administrator for the role she played in helping to grow the game of soccer in the Rochester area as a founding owner of the Rochester Ravens in 1996.  The Ravens were part of the Inter-Regional Soccer League.

Sunday’s induction marked the fourth time in her career that McCabe has been enshrined in a hall of fame.  Currently, she is a member of the Smithtown High School, United Soccer League and University of Rochester halls of fame.  While at the U of R, McCabe was a two-time All-American and helped lead the Yellowjackets to back-to-back national championships.

Now in her 18th year at the helm of the women’s soccer program at Fisher, McCabe is the team’s all-time leader in coaching victories and has led the Cardinals to the postseason six times in that span.

McCabe’s team will start its season on Saturday, Sept. 1, when it travels to Haverford, Pennsylvania, to face Montclair State University in the Haverford Kickoff Classic.
