To all of the newest members of the Fisher family, welcome home!

Erin Turpin

My name is Erin Turpin, and I am absolutely delighted to serve as your Student Government Association president.

Just a year ago, I was in your position, eager to move in and begin my next journey at Fisher. My first year was full of new experiences and amazing opportunities, and I can assure that your year will be full, too! From the time you get here for Orientation until the day you leave for your next journey, I hope that you will be enchanted by the Fisher family feeling we all know and love.

Student Government Association, or SGA, is one of the many organizations that you can get involved with during your time at Fisher. We aim to represent and advocate for you and all of the other students on campus. We offer fitness classes, including zumba and yoga; host Senate meetings for students who want their ideas and voices to be heard; and offer many resources to students who want to be active in clubs and organizations. The six of us on the SGA board are always open to new ideas and feedback, so if you ever need anything during your time at Fisher, please reach out to SGA!

My biggest piece of advice to incoming students is always the same: get involved in some way. Whether it be through athletics, an on-campus job, or with one of our more than 65 clubs, being involved will enhance your college experience and help you meet people that will be in your life for years to come. If you’re unsure of what you’d like to be involved with, join SGA and the rest of the clubs and organizations at our Fall Involvement Fest in September and see all that we have to offer!

I am so excited and so thankful to serve you and the rest of the student community this year. Please don’t ever hesitate to reach out to me for anything!

Enjoy the rest of your summer. I can’t wait to meet you during Orientation!
