From the Office of Information Technology (OIT)

July 30, 2019

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is a one-stop shop for help regarding email, network accounts, and a host of other digital questions.

The OIT website provides a list of services available to students, computer recommendations, and free and discounted software including Office 365.

The OIT Service Desk can help students with questions regarding email, network accounts, computer labs, and troubleshooting network and Internet connection problems for those living on campus. If your student needs assistance, the OIT Service Desk is located in the bottom level of Kearney Hall, K-053. There is also a satellite Service Desk with limited hours on the main floor of Lavery Library in the Learning Commons. Students can email questions to OITServiceDesk@sjfc.edu or call (585) 385-8016 for 24/7 technical support.

RAVE Emergency Alert System

The College utilizes the RAVE Emergency Alert Notification system to communicate with the campus in the event of an emergency. Students will automatically be entered into the system after they log in to Fish ‘R ’Net for the first time. They will be asked for the following information:

  • Best contact phone number (typically cell phone number)
  • Who to contact if student goes missing (name and phone)
  • Emergency contact (name and phone)

This information is then provided to RAVE. Encourage your students to keep their information current and to visit our Rave website if they have additional questions.
