Professor selected for Teaching Philosophy Institute, Re-envisions Curriculum Tim Madigan

12/09/2022 - Professor and Chair of Philosophy and Classical Studies, Dr. Timothy Madigan, was selected to participate in The Council of Independent Colleges’ (CIC) New Currents in Teaching Philosophy Institute over the summer. The event was held in Baltimore, Maryland and was supported by Andrew W. Mellon Foundation with additional backing from the National Endowment for the Humanities.

12/08/2022 - This fall, the Department of Media and Communication announced that the 2022 Seward Scholarship was awarded to students Emma Healy and Allison Lyons. The scholarship honors former faculty member Jim Seward and his 41 years of college teaching, over half of which were spent at Fisher.

11/29/2022 - Fisher senior, media and communication major, and avid skier Mitch Steedman has always had a passion for filmmaking and cinematography. “I always loved capturing myself and friends in action while skiing over Bristol Mountain,” he said. By combining his skiing hobby with his love for visual media, he found a career path.

11/22/2022 - On Thursday, Dec. 1, the St. John Fisher University Honors Program will host its Fall Keystone Showcase to celebrate and recognize Fisher Honors Scholars’ projects. The Showcase will be held from 5:15-7:30 p.m. in Cleary Family Auditorium.

11/18/2022 - St. John Fisher University students are teaming up to collect clothing, toys, and toiletries for non-profit organizations in the Rochester area. Donation collection will begin on Monday, Nov. 28 and run through Thursday, Dec. 8; bins will be placed throughout campus. Donated items for both organizations must be new.

11/15/2022 - Four students from the Department of Media and Communication participated in a public relations bootcamp competition, The Pitch, hosted on Sunday, Nov. 6. The competition was sponsored by the Rochester chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and hosted at Dixon Schwabl + Company.
