02/21/2019 - This fall, St. John Fisher College will offer a new online Master of Science in Strategic Communication degree program, providing advanced knowledge in public relations, advertising, and marketing for individuals seeking leadership positions in agencies, corporations, and non-profits. Applications are currently being accepted for the inaugural fall 2019 cohort.
02/18/2019 - Each year, the Honors Program publishes The Review, Fisher’s undergraduate research journal featuring original, scholarly work from students. The submission period for the 2019 issue is now open, and the editors are encouraging students from across Schools and disciplines to consider submitting.
02/18/2019 - Now in its second year, the FIS(HER) program intends to provide a forum for St. John Fisher College students to develop new tools and concrete strategies to overcome gender-based obstacles. The event takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21, in Golisano Gateway Midlevel. It is free and open to the Fisher community.
02/07/2019 - This semester, over 60 St. John Fisher College students are studying in Spain, Italy, Ireland, and Australia, marking one of the largest cohorts of students Fisher has sent abroad in one semester. The study abroad program has seen an increase in interest; in part, due to the expanded efforts of program director, Dr. Stella Plutino-Calabrese.
02/05/2019 - The Student Experiential Learning Fund, created in 2018, helped pave the way for Garrett Steiger ’18 (pictured, left) to land a full-time position in professional baseball.
02/04/2019 - A hallmark of Fisher’s sport management program continues to be the engaging internship and practicum experiences students have throughout the academic year.
01/25/2019 - A new gallery exhibit at the Patricia O’Keefe Ross Gallery, “The Art of Living in the Moment,” showcases the photography work of Dr. Linda MacCammon, associate professor of religious studies at St. John Fisher College.
01/18/2019 - A horror film produced by students at St. John Fisher College was screened at the 80 Screams International Film Festival and the Lift-Off Sessions Film Festival.
12/07/2018 - This fall, Fisher’s Department of Media and Communication selected Alyssa Whitley ’19 as the recipient of the James E. Seward Scholarship. Carrying a $1,000 award, the scholarship honors Jim Seward and his 41 years of college teaching, 29 of which were spent at Fisher. The scholarship was established by former students, friends, and colleagues within the department when he retired in 2011.
11/30/2018 - On Wednesday, Nov. 14, St. John Fisher College students organized “We is for Equality,” an event featuring panel speakers who discussed the current climate surrounding equality in society.
