
11/09/2018 - The National Science Foundation awarded St. John Fisher College nearly $650,000 to launch a scholarship program for students who are interested in biology or chemistry and who have a demonstrated financial need. Fisher was one of nearly 80 institutions to receive the funding, selected from a national pool of more than 500 applicants.

10/29/2018 - Starting in fall 2019, a new Master of Public Health (MPH) offered at St. John Fisher College will help health care professionals and administrators deepen their understanding of the health care needs and disparities within the community.

10/26/2018 - On Saturday, Nov. 3, St. John Fisher College will host TEDxSJFC from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Basil 135.

10/25/2018 - St. John Fisher College faculty and staff members will offer short presentations along the theme of justice during the Fall 2018 Teach-In.

10/12/2018 - The 2018 Loss Science Lecture Series at St. John Fisher College will feature genetics researcher Dr. Martha Susiarjo. Her lecture, “Genomic Imprinting as a Mechanism for Maternal-Fetal Health Programming,” will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, in Basil 135 and is free and open to the public.

10/08/2018 - Dr. Greg Cunningham is an expert on the olfactory senses of birds, having researched how penguins, hawks, and seabird chicks react to different odors. In the next iteration of his research, Cunningham traveled to the Northwest coast of Costa Rica to work with professors from Veritas University to test how fish might react to the scent of a chemical in the water. For this trip, he brought along senior Jenna Keppel, a summer research fellow, to work alongside him.

09/21/2018 - St. John Fisher College will host a College-wide, two-day initiative, The Albatross Project, focused on sustainability on Tuesday, Oct. 9 and Wednesday, Oct. 10.

09/21/2018 - A workshop and keynote lecture hosted by St. John Fisher College will bring together local experts and business leaders to share ways that companies and organizations can become environmentally and ethically sustainable.

09/14/2018 - St. John Fisher College’s Chemistry Department will acquire a powerful piece of equipment for its laboratories thanks to a grant from the National Science Foundation’s Major Research Instrumentation program.
