
06/24/2020 - As a Service Scholar, St. John Fisher College alumna Grace Windschitl ’20 spent three years working at Nazareth Elementary, a place she now calls her “second home.”

06/10/2020 - When Dylan MacQuoid ’20 began his first year at St. John Fisher College, the United States was just two months away from the 2016 presidential election. A political science and media and communication major, there was no better time to be studying politics and civic engagement.

06/03/2020 - In five years, St. John Fisher College alumna Katie Smith ’20 hopes to be either a criminal defense attorney or working at a private law firm. A recipient of the Service Scholarship, Smith was a legal studies and history double major with a minor in ethics.

05/09/2020 - Each year, St. John Fisher College honors members of its graduating class who have achieved excellence in their academic studies and co-curricular pursuits.

05/09/2020 - This year, three members of the St. John Fisher College faculty were named recipients of the College’s most prestigious scholarship and teaching honors. The awards are usually bestowed during the College’s Commencement ceremony.

04/30/2020 - Fun. Exciting. Amazing. That’s how Tre’vonnte Holmes describes his first year at St. John Fisher College. A native of Detroit, Michigan, Holmes came to campus to pursue a degree in sport management. Along the way, he has engaged in some of Fisher’s best traditions and carved out his very own study space in Lavery Library.

04/14/2020 - In ever changing times, the Political Action Club (PAC) continues to remain an active club on Fisher’s virtual campus. While many of their planned events were canceled, they’re harnessing the connectivity of Zoom to hold a Virtual Voter Registration Drive, beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 16.

04/14/2020 - St. John Fisher College is known for serving the Rochester community. This dedication is often on display through the work of community-engaged learning courses offered each year, including Helping Professions in Action, taught by Dr. Patricia Tweet.

04/09/2020 - This summer, a group of middle and high school teachers will learn how to incorporate the study of Lake Ontario, and the streams and rivers that flow into it, into their curriculum. The new program—designed by a St. John Fisher College biology professor in collaboration with Genesee RiverWatch and Delta Environmental, Inc.—will connect teachers with tools and opportunities from local, state, and national resources.

04/08/2020 - Dr. Emily Dane-Staples, associate professor in the Sport Management Department, was recently awarded Sport Management Education Journal’s Best Paper Award for 2019.
