03/06/2019 - NPR Best Book author Idra Novey will read from her newest novel, Those Who Knew, during St. John Fisher College’s 2019 Cavanaugh Reading Series. Sponsored by the English Department, the event is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, in Wilson Formal Lounge, and is free and open to the public.
03/01/2019 - St. John Fisher College has been ranked as one of the best schools for the money in the U.S. by College Factual, a college search website based in Troy, New York.
02/28/2019 - On February 22, the St. John Fisher College Mock Trial team traveled to Buffalo State University to compete against mock trial teams from across the state.
02/21/2019 - This fall, St. John Fisher College will offer a new online Master of Science in Strategic Communication degree program, providing advanced knowledge in public relations, advertising, and marketing for individuals seeking leadership positions in agencies, corporations, and non-profits. Applications are currently being accepted for the inaugural fall 2019 cohort.
02/21/2019 - Representatives from GreenSpark Solar will deliver a presentation on solar energy during a Sustainability Lunch and Learn from 12:20 to 1:15 p.m. on Friday, March 1, in Basil 211.
02/18/2019 - Political science and legal studies major Alberto Gutierrez is the next featured senior in the Countdown to Commencement video series. He was nominated by Dr. Kathleen Donovan, an assistant professor of political science.
02/18/2019 - Each year, the Honors Program publishes The Review, Fisher’s undergraduate research journal featuring original, scholarly work from students. The submission period for the 2019 issue is now open, and the editors are encouraging students from across Schools and disciplines to consider submitting.
02/18/2019 - Now in its second year, the FIS(HER) program intends to provide a forum for St. John Fisher College students to develop new tools and concrete strategies to overcome gender-based obstacles. The event takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21, in Golisano Gateway Midlevel. It is free and open to the Fisher community.
02/07/2019 - This semester, over 60 St. John Fisher College students are studying in Spain, Italy, Ireland, and Australia, marking one of the largest cohorts of students Fisher has sent abroad in one semester. The study abroad program has seen an increase in interest; in part, due to the expanded efforts of program director, Dr. Stella Plutino-Calabrese.
02/06/2019 - Maura Connorton ’20, a junior studying biology at St. John Fisher College, was recently awarded a 2019 Summer Research Fellowship grant through the Endocrine Society.
