Glossary of Terms

Accused – shall mean a person accused of a violation who has not yet entered in to the College's Student Conduct Process

Bystander – shall mean a person who observes a crime, impending crime, conflict, potentially violent or violent behavior, or conduct that is a violation of Student Code of Conduct or other College policies

Campus Security Authority (CSA)

Reporting Individual – shall encompass the terms victim, survivor, complainant, claimant, witness with victim status, witness and any other term used by the College to reference individual who brings forth a report of sexual misconduct

Respondent

Title IX Coordinator – shall mean the College’s Title IX coordinator and/or his/her designee

Sexual Activity – shall mean the following:

  • Contact between the penis and the vulva or the penis and the anus. Contact involved the penis occurs upon penetration, however slight.
  • Contact between the mouth and the penis, the mouth and the vulva, or the mouth and the anus.
  • The penetration, however slight, of the anal or genital opening of another by a hand or finger or by any object, with an intent to abuse, humiliate, harass, degrade, or arouse or gratify the sexual desire of any person.
  • The intentional touch, not through the clothing, of the genitalia of another person who has not attained the age of 16 years with an intent to abuse, humiliate, harass, degrade, or arouse or gratify the sexual desire of any person.

Sexual Contact – shall mean the intentional touching, either directly or through the clothing, of the genitalia, anus, groin, breast, inner thigh, or buttocks of any person with an intent to abuse, humiliate, harass, degrade, or arouse or gratify the sexual desire of any person
