General Content in T4

The majority of the website is built using the General Content content type. It is flexible enough to use for most of the content on your page.

The General Content example below shows how the Heading, Sub-heading, and Main body* fields display on a demonstration page.

General Content Basics

Explanation of Fields

Name*

  • Required field
  • Used in the backend to distinguish each piece of content
  • Make it descriptive so you can identify your content easily

Heading

  • Becomes the title, heading 1 (H1), of your page
  • ONLY fill this field out if this is the first piece of content on your page

Sub-heading

  • Serves as a short summary of the page
  • ONLY fill this field out if this is the first piece of content on your page

Main body*

  • Required field
  • WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) field that will hold all your content

Additional Fields

  • Keep the "Select if you wish to share this page" checkbox unchecked

Important Note on General Content

Using Multiple Pieces of General Content on a Page

Remember! When using more than one piece of General Content on a single page, the Heading and Sub-heading fields should only be filled out on the FIRST piece of content.
