Add a Document to a Page
Adding a document from the Media Library to a page is a pretty straightforward process.
Note: Your document needs to already exist in the T4 Media Library before you can add it to a page. Refer to the instructions on uploading a new document or updating an existing document for more information.
Add Document to Page Training Video
The following training video covers the basics of adding a document from the Media Library to a page in T4 [video length: 00:02:10].
Use the Insert from Media Icon
From the Main body field of your piece of content, click on the Insert from Media icon (Hint: it looks like a picture of a mountain and sun).
Select the Document from the Media Library
Browse to your documents folder and click on the link in the Name column that corresponds to the document you'd like to insert.
Review the Inserted Document Link
A link to the document will be added to your piece of content using the exact text in the Name field of the document in the Media Library.
Changing the Document Link Text
If you want to change the text of the inserted document link, you should do so by editing the Name field in the Media Library. This will ensure that the any reference to this document within T4 will also update.
For Special Circumstances
It is possible to change the automatically generated document link text by double clicking on the link and filling out the Name field of the Set media attributes dialog box. However, this should be done ONLY when you need to make an exception to the document link text, such as when working the link into a paragraph. Otherwise, change the document link text via the Name field in the Media Library, as described above.
Remember, a link to a document should always have the document extension in brackets (ex. [pdf], [doc], etc.), even if you are overriding the generated document link text.
