75 Employees Recognized for Milestone Service

October 19, 2023

St. John Fisher University honored 75 employees for milestone years of service during the annual Service Awards Ceremony, held on Thursday, Oct. 19.

Terri Bagshaw was honored for 40 years of service at the annual Service Awards Ceremony.

In all, the employees recognized during the ceremony have given 1,080 years of service to Fisher, and have seen the University experience remarkable change and growth.

“The work that each of you do from day-to-day renews our purpose and broadens our impact, and ensures that Fisher remains true to its mission and history, while remaining student-focused and open to change to best serve those we have the privilege of serving,” said President Gerard J. Rooney, at the luncheon.

Valerie Benjamin, assistant vice president for human resources, noted the importance of employee recognition of this nature.

“The service award luncheon is one of our favorite events on campus. It’s wonderful to pause and celebrate the dedication of our employees, which shapes the Fisher we know today,” she said.

The most senior member of the group is Terri Bagshaw, who celebrates a 40-year career at Fisher. An alumna of the University, she joined the staff in 1983, the same year Fisher announced the launch of its first graduate program, the MBA. Bagshaw has seen Fisher move from an undergraduate institution to that of a graduate degree-granting institution, and now, a University.
