About the Lessons and Carols tradition:
The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols originated at King’s College, University of Cambridge, in 1918, introduced by Dean Eric Milner-White to bring a more imaginative approach to worship. Our University’s namesake, St. John Fisher, served as chancellor of Cambridge from 1504 to 1514, making this tradition especially meaningful for our community. Today, the service includes carols, biblical readings, and hymns that reflect the hope and joy of Christmas.
