Stephen Brauer is an associate professor and chair of the English Department. He teaches courses focused on American literature, American culture of the twentieth century, Modernism, the Harlem Renaissance, and film. His book, Criminality and the Modern: Contingency and Agency in Twentieth-Century America, is forthcoming from Lexington Books. He has published articles in American Literature, American Quarterly, American Studies Journal, InVisible Culture, The Fitzgerald Review, and other journals, and has published chapters in a number of collected scholarly editions.
