John González joined the Geneva City School District in October of 2022. As the assistant superintendent of teaching, learning, and accountability, his work connects with all aspects of instruction in the district; this includes English language learners, bilingual programs, special education, and extended school day.

González is a graduate of Buffalo State College, SUNY Brockport, and the University of Rochester, where he received his certification in school building and district-level leadership. After graduating from Buffalo State College with his certification in childhood and special education, he began working in the Rochester City School District as a special education teacher. He also served as an instructional coach, supporting both literacy and math instruction.

In 2013, he began his career as an administrator in the Rochester City School District, where he served as the director of expanded learning, and principal of Francis Parker School No. 23, and Anna Murray-Douglass Academy School No. 12. In 2021, he joined the Buffalo Public School District as the associate superintendent for school leadership, where he supported 13 schools serving students in grades pre-K–12. Today, he serves as the assistant superintendent of teaching, learning, and accountability in the Geneva City School District.
