About Teddi

Teddi Mervis

Teddi Mervis

Elizabeth “Teddi” Mervis, daughter of Gary Mervis, battled with a brain tumor for three years before it took her life in February of 1982. For two of those years, Teddi also saw her wildest dreams come true: swimming, hiking, boating, archery, seaplane rides, horseback riding, canoeing, fishing, campfires, and road trips.

Camp Good Days and Special Times

Gary Mervis started Camp Good Days within the first year after his daughter’s diagnosis. Summers at camp gave Teddi and her peers life, laughter, and love. It enabled them to realize that they were not the only children in the world experiencing chronic disease.

Over the years, Camp Good Days expanded to Camp Good Days and Special Times Inc., which welcomes over 1,000 children and volunteers each summer. Children between the ages of 7 and 17 with terminal illnesses can come to camp to laugh, enjoy special moments, and experience childhood. Camp Good Days also expanded to include the Teddi Project, which makes the special wish of traveling to Disney World a reality for terminally ill children.
