Pharm.D. Application for Matriculation
To matriculate into the Doctor of Pharmacy Program after a minimum of two years of undergraduate coursework, students will apply online to the Wegmans School of Pharmacy.
Admissions
Online applications to PharmCAS (Pharmacy College Application Service) are due February 1. Applications can be submitted before all prerequisite courses are done, but a plan needs to be in place to complete all the prerequisites by the beginning of the Pharm.D. semester.
To submit your application for matriculation, you will need the following:
- Personal statement
- Letters of recommendation (at least two)
- Interview completed virtually through the Kira Assessment platform
- Prerequisite review conversation with a Pharmacy faculty member
Applications submitted after the deadline are processed as received, and admission is on a space-available basis.
Admissions Decision Criteria
The following criteria will be used to make a decision on every applicant:
- Scholastic ability: Earn a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and 3.0 science-only GPA by the end of each of the second, third, and fourth semesters (spring of first year, fall and spring of second year). All courses are included in these GPA calculations, including college courses completed outside of St. John Fisher University.
- Successful completion of both the Pharmacy Seminar I and Pharmacy Seminar II courses.
- Submission of Application.
- The date that the completed application was received by the Wegmans School of Pharmacy.
Upon acceptance into the Pharm.D. program, you will be required to complete any remaining 62 prerequisite credits in the pre-professional curriculum before beginning Pharm.D. courses. Once enrolled at the University, all outstanding natural science courses and their associated laboratories must be completed at Fisher unless otherwise approved by the assistant dean of student affairs of the Wegmans School of Pharmacy.
AP credit will only be allowed for fulfillment of non-science prerequisite courses; however, dual-enrollment credit may be used to satisfy any prerequisite course. Students who do not meet the above criteria are still eligible to apply for admission to the Wegmans School of Pharmacy through PharmCAS provided they complete the prerequisite courses, achieve minimum cumulative and science-only grade point averages of 2.75, and submit all required application materials to PharmCAS by June 1 of the intended year of entry.
