Narrative:
Dr. VanCeylon joined the faculty at St. John Fisher University in 2026. His research examines how environmental amenities, risks, and policies shape housing markets, migration, and inequality. He is particularly interested in how these effects vary across socioeconomic and political groups. His current work explores the lasting environmental consequences of historical redlining, differences between voters’ stated and revealed environmental preferences, and the benefits and political challenges of renewable energy expansion. His research has appeared in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, American Journal of Agricultural Economics, and Southern Economic Journal.
