Student Engagement Spaces

In addition to residence hall lounges, the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Athletic Center, and Lavery Library, campus spaces provide ample opportunities for students to gather for events, host club meetings, and hang out in the evenings.

Donald E. Bain Campus Center

Situated between the residential side and the academic side of campus, the Campus Center is the main gathering spot for students. The Campus Center is open 24/7 and is supervised during the evening and weekend hours by student employee Campus Center Managers. Students may sign out board games and equipment from the Campus Center Managers.

Established in 2022 in the former mainstage area across from the Ward-Haffey Dining Hall, Tepas Commons features a variety of tables and chairs, booth seating, and familiar living room-style furniture. There is a large television with cable where students often gather for sporting events, awards shows, or network television events. Additionally, smaller televisions are available in some booths and equipped with Airplay for students to collaborate on group projects, assignments, or club activities. 

The Terrace at Tepas Commons is an outdoor patio that leads to the Keough Quad. This large outdoor gathering area features a variety of Adirondack tables and chairs for gathering and a large gas fire pit. 

The Nest

The Nest is located on the first floor of the Campus Center and is the student club and organization hub and commuter lounge. The Nest houses offices for the Student Government Association, Commuter Council, Student Activities Board, Affinity Clubs, Residence Hall Association, and Teddi Dance for Love. All students are welcome to utilize the community workspaces and soft furniture between classes or during evening hours for group or individual work, rest, or club meetings. 

Council of President's (COP) Room

The COP room is a midsize, multipurpose room with a teaching station, computer, and projector located on the second floor of the Campus Center. This is a popular space for studying or campus events and may be reserved by University departments or clubs. 

Elaine Wilson Formal Lounge

The Elaine Wilson Formal Lounge is another midsize, multipurpose room with a computer and projector. This space is on the first floor of the Campus Center across from the Office of Safety and Security. This space may be reserved by University departments or clubs.

Michaelhouse

Main Area

The area outside SONO Latin Grill features a ping pong table, arcade game, billiards tables, and cable television with couches. Billiards club members are often here and welcome new members at any time. Fisher students may use this space and associated games during and outside of SONO Latin Grill hours. This area of Michaelhouse does not require ID card access.

All students and employees have card swipe access to the Gaming Lab, which is furnished with 15 gaming stations and a variety of gaming systems as well as board games and card games. Students may utilize this space for individual or group gaming. Gaming Club members are often here and welcome new members at any time. 

Murphy Hall

Dance Studio

Located across from the Murphy Dining Hall, the dance studio is utilized by the dance club, Irish dance club, and Cardinal Company. All clubs welcome new members at any time.
