Chemistry Research Opportunities

Participating in undergraduate research is a big part of Fisher's Chemistry Department. By the time students graduate, over half will have participated in at least one semester of research.

Chemistry students have the chance to present their research at regional and national conferences, as well as at Fisher's own Student Scholarship and Creative Work Symposium.

Propose a project of your own or work with a faculty member who already has one underway. The diversity of our faculty's research interests allow you to choose projects in areas such as inorganic, organic, analytical chemistry, and biochemistry.

In many cases, you will have the opportunity to present your work at regional and national chemistry and biochemistry meetings and conferences. In the past, we have had students present at meetings in San Diego, Atlanta, Chicago, New Orleans, and San Francisco.

"In my research on a multi-step chemical reaction, I learned how to use a variety of lab equipment - from a flowreactor to a gas chromatograph/mass spectrometer." - Olivia Fraser '18
