Economics Internships and Activities

Internship Opportunities

Fisher's proximity to the Rochester business community affords many opportunities to gain practical experience and cultivate job contacts in your area of interest. Students have undertaken internships at several local locations, including:

  • Merrill Lynch
  • Eastman Dental Center
  • Wall Street Financial Group
  • Legal Services Corporation

As an economics major, you also may take advantage of The Washington Experience. This semester-long program provides a chance to intern at any one of hundreds of governmental, private, diplomatic, business, or educational organizations in the nation’s capital.

Economics Club

Since 2006, Fisher's Economics Club has brought together students from a multitude of majors to discuss and study relevant economic issues. The club fosters the advancement of the social sciences and serves the community by informing them of economic issues.

Throughout the year, the club also hosts guest lecturers, arranges trips, and screens economics-related films. In addition, the group sponsors a reading and discussion group that meets twice monthly.
