Sashittal's current research focuses on managing the millennial generation in organizations, based on a survey of over 600 millennials in the workplace. His research on social media marketing is published in leading journals (e.g., MIT Sloan Management Review) and the Harvard Business Review has included two of his articles related to branding/marketing via Facebook and Twitter on their website.

Sashittal has also produced original scholarship on social media marketing including Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, and Snapchat. He has published over 30 articles in refereed journals based on his research on product innovation, new product teams and leadership, technology transfer, marketing strategy implementation, and pedagogy. He has also authored a book, Argyris is Arduous: A Strategy for Teaching and Learning Models I & II Theories-in-use: Fundamentals of implementing complex initiatives in organizations.
