Kermin Martínez-Hernández, associate professor of chemistry at Fisher, has become a leading advocate for building a pipeline for STEM education and mentoring of students at all levels.
He serves as the principal investigator for National Science Foundation Robert Noyce Scholarship Program, which supports the recruitment of undergraduates who will earn degrees in a STEM field—biology, chemistry, physics, or mathematics—while also majoring in inclusive adolescence education.
He was selected to participate in the Ford Foundation Fellowship Physical Sciences Panel for the 2020 program year, held at the National Academy of Sciences. In addition, he has led mentoring workshops nationwide (including Hawaii and Puerto Rico).
