December 3, 2020

St. John Fisher College’s Best Buddies Club is the College’s chapter of an international organization that creates one-on-one friendships and opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The main purpose of this club is to promote inclusion on campus.

This year, Best Buddies is led by Emma Paradise, president; Michelle Teiche, vice president; Emma Kowaleski, secretary; Gabby LoGuidia, treasurer; Christian Kendziroia, social media/communications chair; and Meaghan Kehoe and Mariah Frazee, fundraising chairs.

“Best Buddies is a (relatively) new club at Fisher,” says Paradise. “We have been up and running for about three years now and we’ve gone from having five members to 35 members and I am really proud of how far this club has come.”

Best Buddies has hosted many events within the past couple of months, including trivia and karaoke nights. Stay tuned, because their biggest events are planned to take place during Spread the Word Inclusion Week in March 2021. Best Buddies will have a banner signing where students and faculty pledge to spread inclusion.
