Alumni Board of Directors Welcomes Nine New Members

The Alumni Board of Directors, which serves to foster alumni engagement, encourage volunteerism, and grow fundraising efforts, has welcomed a new cohort of members from across different Fisher decades.

Jennifer Benson ’94, director of learning and development at Nestle Health Science, continues to serve as chair of the Board, while Peter Stoller ’05, executive director of the Rochester Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association, serves as vice chair.

New members include:

  • Ben Conrow ’23, a sport management graduate with a minor in media and communication, currently works as a sponsorship consultant at MKTG.
  • Juliette Miller ’20 (Pharm.D.), now a clinical assistant professor at St. John Fisher University, was drawn to Fisher for the pharmacy program and the opportunity to compete as a student-athlete.
  • Dan Schmitz ’96, a financial advisor at OakWood Financial Services, studied economics at Fisher.
  • Emma Alvarado ’20, ’21 (MBA), assistant director of admissions events at Daemen University, earned both her undergraduate and MBA degrees from Fisher.
  • Jonathan Schott ’02, Fisher’s director of campus ministry programs, has a history and religious studies degree.
  • Jose Ramos ’13, ’19 (MBA), studied management and is director of recruitment and enrollment at Cristo Rey Tampa Salesian High School. 
  • Christina Lacagnina ’06, president and CEO of Our Lady of Mercy School for Young Women, studied corporate and personal finance and business.
  • Carol Cannerelli ’79, now semi-retired after a career as an attorney and school district administrator, chose Fisher for its personal feel.
  • Seanelle “Sean” Hawkins ’13 (Ed.D.), president and CEO of the Urban League of Rochester, earned her doctorate in executive leadership at Fisher.

They join current members Marc Anthony Bucci ’15, Jessica Byam ’07, Kate (Tipper) Farley ’05, Corey Hepburn ’16 (M.S.), Chris Keyes ’10, ’20 (MBA), Garrett Macdonald ’14, ’16 (MBA), Matt Rizzieri ’09, ’11 (MBA), Morgan Rulison ’11, Mark Schnobrich ’06, and Tashanda Thomas ’11. Members serve three-year terms.

This year, the Alumni Board has formed working groups to advance its initiatives. The first working group, Alumni and Student Connections, looks to support the launch of the redesigned Cardinal Career Network on LinkedIn. The Alumni Engagement working group will focus on growing the Fisher Giving Back program in and around Rochester and will plan additional local and regional events aimed at graduates from 2000 to the present. The final group, Alumni Board Policies, is working to create a structured onboarding process for new members and establish an ongoing education and engagement system to ensure their success throughout their first year.
