December First Friday Highlights Campus Ministry at Fisher
Sara Mancini-Goebert, director of pastoral care and interfaith engagement, and Deacon Jonathan Schott ’02, director of campus ministry programs, will share the work of today's Office of Campus Ministry during the December First Friday Lecture.
Due to availability, the event will take place on the second Friday of the month, Dec. 12, in the James ’71 and Kathleen Leo Community Room in the Joseph S. Skalny Welcome Center.
From service initiatives and alternative spring break trips to the very popular Chapel Night and the work of peer ministers, Mancini-Goebert and Schott will share examples of how robust student ministry life is at Fisher.
They will also share details about the new structure of the Office of Campus Ministry, which includes Fr. George Smith, CSB, who is serving as Fisher’s campus chaplain while continuing to serve his primary role as the William and Helen Cavanaugh Endowed Chair of Catholic Studies in the Department of Religious Studies, and the addition of a campus ministry coordinator.
A continental breakfast will be served at 10 a.m., with the lecture beginning at 10:30 a.m. Attendees are also invited to attend 12:30 p.m. Mass at the Hermance Family Chapel of St. Basil the Great.
Register online by Wednesday, Dec. 10. For questions, email Kimberly Gropp, associate director for alumni and constituent engagement, at kgropp@sjf.edu or call (585) 385-8458.
