Fisher Dining Hosts Retro Diner Night, First-Ever Supper Club
The St. John Fisher University campus community were welcomed by Fisher Dining to a special themed dinner celebrating classic Americana dining on Wednesday, Nov. 19.
Ward-Haffey Dining Hall was transformed into a classic American diner, as Fisher Dining staff dressed in retro paper hats and served nostalgic favorites.
The menu featured made-to-order smash burgers from the Wok Station, handmade pancakes topped with maple syrup and fruit, grilled cheese paired with tomato parmesan soup, and a root beer float station led by associate MJ, a student favorite.
Diner Night drew more than 900 attendees, some of whom enjoyed the approximately 450 to 500 smash burgers that were prepared throughout the evening. Diner Night offered students a chance to enjoy comfort food in a lively, themed atmosphere, reinforcing Fisher Dining’s commitment to creating memorable campus experiences.
This week, Fisher Dining will debut its first-ever Supper Club from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3, in the Elaine Wilson Formal Lounge. Designed to be a premium dining experience, Supper Club will feature a holiday starter soup, deluxe salad, hand-crafted mocktails, duo entrées (including a vegetarian option), and a homemade dessert, all plated and served to encourage table conversation. Guests will also enjoy interactive tabletop games and entertainment.
This inaugural Supper Club, open to students and University employees, will be capped at 40 participants, with reservations available online. Students are encouraged to “dress to impress” and may use their meal plans to participate. Future Supper Club events are already in development, with menus and experiences shaped by student feedback.
Rounding out the fall semester is the beloved Late Night Breakfast tradition, taking place from 9 to 11 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4, in Ward-Haffey Dining Hall. Hosted by the Residence Hall Association, in partnership with Fisher Dining, the 2026 theme is Polar Express. Attendees will enjoy breakfast favorites, activities, prizes, and merchandise.
