Fisher to Host First-Gen Week Celebration

October 29, 2025

St. John Fisher University will celebrate first-generation students and alumni with a series of events the week of Monday, Nov. 3, in recognition of National First-Generation Week.

A proud first-generation student.

Today, 54 percent of all undergraduates in the United States - 8.2 million - are first-generation. Throughout its history, Fisher has demonstrated a commitment to serving students who are first in their families to pursue higher education. First-Gen Day celebrates those students, providing avenues to celebrate their success and to share what their first-generation journey has meant to them.
