Recognized by the American Pharmacists Month (APhA), the month-long American Pharmacy Month celebration shines a spotlight on the profession’s impact. The American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) celebrated National Pharmacy Week from October 19-25, highlighting the invaluable contributions of pharmacists in health systems.

“Our mission is to prepare graduates to be culturally-sensitive, professionally-minded pharmacists,” said Dr. Christine Birnie, dean of the School. “We also encourage our students to advance the profession of pharmacy through education, advocacy, and outreach—empowering them to be leaders who make a meaningful difference in the health and well-being of the communities they serve.”

From guest speakers and interactive activities to meaningful fundraisers, the School community hosted a variety of events—all designed to elevate awareness and appreciation for the pharmacy profession.

Students and faculty attended the annual Rochester Pharmacy Gala, students involved in Fisher’s chapter of the National Community Oncology Dispensing Association participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, and students with the National Community Pharmacists Association hosted a conversation with the executive director of the Pharmacists Society of the State of New York, among other activities.
