Greetings from the Campus Mailroom

August 15, 2023

The Campus Mailroom team would like to welcome you and your student to the Fisher family. The Mailroom is an integral part of your student’s life on campus. We serve as a link to family, friends, and home.

To provide excellent customer service to you and your student, here are some important facts:

  • The Mailroom is located in the lower level of Haffey Hall.
  • We are open:
    • Monday - Friday 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
    • Saturday and Sunday CLOSED (nothing is delivered to campus on these days)
  • We receive mail and packages weekdays from USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, Amazon, and Lasership.
  • The Mailroom cannot accept deliveries from any Instacart service or restaurant.
  • We use a package tracking system and track every package once it arrives on campus. An email, to your student via their sjf.edu address notifies the student that a package has arrived and is ready for pick-up. A student ID swipe card or other form of government issued photo ID is required for package and mail pick-up.
    • Please know that notifications from the shipper do not mean that a package has arrived on campus and is ready for pick-up.
  • The Mailroom provides all standard Postal Services. We also have envelopes for sale, limited sizes of packing boxes, and packing material. We accept cash and personal checks as forms of payment, and will be upgrading our service to allow for credit/debit and Cardinal Cash payments in the fall semester.
  • We no longer use the physical student mailboxes. An individual mail folder has been assigned to your student. An email to your student’s sjf.edu address alerts them when snail mail has arrived.
  • Mail and packages to your student should be addressed:

St. John Fisher University
Student’s First and Last Name
3690 East Ave
Rochester, NY 14618

ALERT:  Gift card theft is rising. To safely send your student a gift card, we suggest that you mail gift cards in other packaging, i.e. with other items in a box or a padded envelope. If mailed with a card in an envelope, pay for Priority Service which will provide a tracking number and $100 of insurance. Be sure to keep your gift card purchase receipt and the shipping receipt with the tracking number provided by the Post Office.

We look forward to meeting your student as the new academic year begins. Please feel free to contact us via email or phone if you have any questions.
