Photography Exhibit Features Work of Fisher Professor, Students
A new gallery exhibit at the Patricia O’Keefe Ross Gallery, “The Art of Living in the Moment,” showcases the photography work of Dr. Linda MacCammon, associate professor of religious studies at St. John Fisher College.
According to MacCammon, the photographs, which will be on display through Friday, March 15, capture “life in the moment” and feature the people and places she has experienced throughout her many travels. The exhibit also includes work submitted by students through a photography contest organized by MacCammon and the School of Arts and Sciences. The vision behind the contest, and MacCammon’s work, is to celebrate the unexpected, the surprising, the comical, and the captivating through a photographic lens.
“I hope the exhibit will inspire visitors to unplug and find their own moments, to look at the world around them with a renewed sense of wonder and anticipation,” she said.
An opening reception for the exhibit will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30. During the event, Dr. Ann Marie Fallon, dean of the School of Arts and Sciences, will announce the winners of the student photography contest.
Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is free and open to the public. For more information, email Cathy Sweet at email@example.com or visit the Gallery’s Facebook page for details about current and upcoming exhibits.
