Miller Smith, Five Alumnae among RBJ’s Women of Excellence

St. John Fisher College professor Dr. Arlette Miller Smith, associate professor of English and director of the African American Studies program, is among the Rochester Business Journal’s honorees for the 2020 Women of Excellence awards.

Fisher alumnae Amy DelCorvo ’10 (Ed.D.), Marilynn Patterson Grant ’10 (Ed.D.), Barbara Wale ’05 (MBA), and Seanelle Hawkins ’13 (Ed.D.) are also included in the 2020 class.

The awards recognize high-achieving women for their tremendous career accomplishments. Finalists are selected based on their professional experience, community involvement, leadership, and sustained commitment to mentoring.

Sharon Napier ’81 is among seven women chosen for the Circle of Excellence honor. Selected by editors of the RBJ, the Circle of Excellence recognizes women of longstanding, notable success in the community who are leading the way for other women.

The women will be formally honored during a ceremony held in September.
