Student Leadership Development Program Launches at Fisher

March 3, 2022

Led by Director of Student Engagement and Inclusion Amanda Metzger, the Evolve Leadership development program held its first meeting on Tuesday, March 1. Students with different leadership backgrounds brought years of experience and a variety of personal goals together to learn about themselves and each other as leaders.

Throughout the program, Metzger plans for students to be able to easily identify individual strengths, articulate their personal goals, and understand how the strengths they bring to the table are crucial in teamwork.

“Our teams are strong because of the differences we bring,” she said. This attitude can be seen in her work and passion as she makes students eager to grow.

Students were asked to identify their strengths, values, and roles that they play in their day-to-day lives. This method created meaningful discussion and a sense of leadership, said Metzger, is already starting to bloom.

There is still time to sign up for Evolve for students who are interested. The next session will be held from 1 to 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, in the COP conference room on the second floor of the Donald E. Bain Campus Center. Register on Cardinal Hub to join the next five sessions or email Metzger for more information at ametzger@sjfc.edu.
