Countdown to Commencement 2026: Vincenzo Perfetti

January 19, 2026

This week’s featured student in the “Countdown to Commencement” series is Vincenzo Perfetti, a criminology major nominated by Sarah Mancini‑Goebert, director of pastoral care and interfaith engagement in the Office of Campus Ministry.

Perfetti has been an active student leader in Campus Ministry. He has played a meaningful role in helping students deepen their faith and live it out with confidence. Known for his inviting and encouraging presence, he has inspired many of his peers to participate in Sunday Chapel Night, which has seen record attendance in recent months.

A talented musician, Perfetti also generously shares his gifts with the campus community. He has found a strong balance between college life and his faith, and he is driven to help other students stay engaged. Each year, he plays “Taps” at the University’s 9/11 memorial service, a moment Mancini‑Goebert describes as deeply moving.

“It is always so powerful. His gift of music has been a beautiful presence at our University traditions,” she said.

Perfetti recalls the moment that first drew him into campus life at Fisher, an invitation to participate in a Campus Ministry event. “That invitation on the first night of my first year really just sparked something in me. I’m a part of something bigger than myself, I’m a part of something great.”

In her nomination, Mancini‑Goebert praised Perfetti for bringing his full self to every task. She noted his energy, dedication, and commitment to doing his work well.

Perfetti’s advice to fellow and future students is to remember the Basilian motto, which has guided the institution since its founding.

“Always remember our Fisher virtues of goodness, discipline, and knowledge. They will guide you in life, they give you a good moral compass for everything you do on campus, and they will enable you to help other people and make a really positive impact,” he said.
