Dialogue in Humanities Event Explores: The Archives of Rome

March 12, 2026

The School of Arts and Sciences Division of Humanities will continue its Dialogue in the Humanities series in March with a session led by Dr. Fred Dotolo, associate professor of history, who will present “The Archives of Rome.”

The event will take place on Friday, March 20, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Hughes Rotunda of the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. School of Education and is open to all members of the campus community.

Dotolo’s presentation will guide attendees through the rich and complex history of Rome’s archives, repositories that have shaped global understandings of governance, religion, culture, and historical memory.

This session will offer insight into how archival materials illuminate the past and continue to influence contemporary scholarship.

The series emphasizes accessibility and community engagement, offering a space where participants can explore big questions, share perspectives, and consider how the humanities help us interpret the world around us.

Upcoming sessions will continue throughout the spring, including a presentation by Dr. Nancy Rourke, assistant professor of religious studies, on April 24.
